Teen pregnancy and prevention are deeply tied to many other issues: overall sexual health, economics, culture, our health care and education systems, and the many different ways of addressing prevention.
Sometimes we hear questions about the workshops we provide, policies we support, and solutions we promote or discourage.
Our positions are guided by our mission and values. They all reflect:
- A commitment to preventing adolescent pregnancy. All of our work is tied to addressing documented risk and protective factors for becoming pregnant or causing a pregnancy.
- A thorough review of research and evidence. We promote programs and strategies that are proven to work.
- Deep respect for all young people, their values, potential, health, and dignity.
- Support for the network of people, systems, and organizations in which young people develop. This includes supporting and strengthening their parents, families, schools, and communities.
